I wish that was the amount that I ran (actually I wish I ran at all, which I haven't, but hopefully I'm going to join a weekly running group to get myself in shape, because apparently, in my universe, sour cream is as valid a side as corn or spinach or something else like that doesn't have 3 zillion grams of fat per tablespoon. And don't even try to tell me to try the low fat, it's not worth it), but it was actually the amount that I knit.
I worked on the Lib's secret project (2 skeins down, one-ish to go) and the Turtleneck Shrug from Scarf Style. I'm not using Rowan Kid Classic- oh how dreamy to knit everything in Rowan- but a ridiculously cheap substitute in white frost. (Jon, don't click on this, because you'll never talk to me again.) It was a fine gauge, but now that I've done most of the first sleeve, it looks a bit Michelin Man-y. I'm going to continue, and maybe I'll just have to wear it with tanks or short sleeved things, as to avoid the extra bunching/thickness. I really like this pattern- easy-peasy- and think that I might make one in a bolder color next winter.
I've been following my goal of using up a skein before moving on to another project- my KADD is too severe to focus on one project a week like Michelle and Jenifer are doing. It definitely motivates me to knit faster, so that I can look at something else, and I really feel like I accomplish something by ending a skein.
I'm beginning to see why people can't stop joining knitalongs- I just joined my second, and hope to cast on as soon as I finish one of these current projects.
I'm making the Union Jack sweater from SnB Nation, but with black, pink and white instead of the traditional colors. I can't wait, I'm definitely in love with the Brits and have a feeling this won't be my last Anglophilic project.
Lastly, I have to say, how is it that abject failure can breed such confidence? Not only did the Steelers beat the Pats once (and not just by a little- by three touchdowns), the Pats were also beaten by the worst team in the AFC. Yet somehow they're favored, in our house, with our whole team healthy (some a little healthier than others, if you know what I mean, wink wink nudge nudge). I suppose the final score will speak for itself. That and the big package of yarn that Maryse is going to owe me after the game. You can keep your dimpled, camera whore of a QB, sweetheart- I'm happy with a nice, meaty burger. Did I mention he was Rookie of the Year?

I guess it could have been worst. It could have been frou frou yarn.

i can't wait to see both your secret project and your Union Jack, in tweaked colors. I love all things British too.

Ahhh, but they beat the worst team in football - The Browns. ;) btw - I'm totally up for wagers next season. As long as they're small. I married into this insanity!

I think the yarn wager you have with Maryse on tomorrow's game is very cool. I'm a Carolina fan myself, so may the best team win!
