In the Purple

I've been trying to conjure a witty post, with no luck, so here goes a just the facts, ma'am one.

Finished Tempting- no pics to post as of yet[edit: there is a pic of me in it here], but I did wear it out to our Meetup on Tuesday evening (forgot my camera, yay me).  I'm happy with it, even though I managed to screw up the easiest pattern in the world (it's not that noticable, but I find it laughable that I could mess it up).  My only recommendation with this pattern is to make the smaller size if your bust is in between.  I made the 36, and I definitely have room to grow.  I'll have to re-read 'Are You There, God? It's Me, Margaret' to get some of those exercises going.

I started two new projects- first a tank that I've dubbed Elle that I am trying to design out of the Manos Cotton Stria that I got in a trade with Ms. Lauren (get the name now?).  I'm not sure if the design is going to translate to a knit fabric, since the one I saw (on Cyberchase, no less- at least it was on a live person and not the Gilbert Godfried toucan) was made out of....broadcloth? (I am so bad with fabrics- it looked like the stuff that oxfords are made out of.)  I'm also a little nervous about the yarn stretching, since I only have four skeins.  I will make a sketch and share it, and if the design works out, I'll definitely post it.

Second, the Rebecca tank pattern that Stacey picked up for me.  It's called Sweater with Gathers, but on this blog, it will be heretofore referred to as Just Beachy (yes, I can't resist silly puns based on my friends' names).  I am on the center cable, hopefully to finish tonight so that I can start one of the sides.  I started with the front as I was a little afraid that I wouldn't be able to get it, and then what would I do with the back of the tank?  O, right, probably rub it all over myself and sleep with it since this yarn is so sinfully soft.

I still really need to start the baby sweater, which I've been putting off since I'm too lazy to wind the double stranded balls off of the cone I have.  Sad times.  Oh, and I totally can't resist passing along a little retail therapy.  Joanne, a woman on the MH ring, is selling a line of knitters fabric and it looks so fun.  How great would a knitting tote be out of that stockinette print?

Love the fabric. I don't believe I've seen anything modeled on a Gilbert Godfried toucan...

the cotton stria looks so fun, i hope your tank works out. and which rebecca is that ruffly tank from? it's so lovely!

Are you there God, it's me Margaret is still one of my all-time favorite books!! I read it again about six years ago-- my old copy from 1978 was so beat up, I held it together with a rubberband! I never tried those exercises. . .but I was also told that if I kept sleeping on my stomach, my boobies would never grow. That was a lie--

Just Beachy looks great! I'm neglecting my knitting, and since my clap is going to be more of a shawl-- I'm still on the b-o-r-i-n-g increases section. I'll be saying the same thing later on in month about the straight section, then the decrease section!

boy you are making me want to cast on for the ruffles, but i just have soooo many projects to finish. lookin' good!

Oooh! I love the rebecca tank you dubbed "just beachy"! very cute!

Okay, I love Cyberchase because it has math in it. Working for a PBS station doesn't help me be less of a nerd, either.

Are you using the GGH Soft Kid for Just Beachy? I am wanting to substitute for it and am curious what other people are doing.

That IS a lot of purple you've got going on lately... between that and the stitch marker custodial battle, you're not quite living up to the Mrs Pink name.

I know you'll take pics at your gathering on Fri. You can't forget your camera, seeing as it's at your house.

"I must, I must, I must increase my bust"
(with arms in an L shape, elbows straight out from the shoulders, and then elbows meeting together in the front). I never needed this exercise, so, not sure it works.

I love 'Just Beachy'! You crack me up!! I've been looking at the fabric that Joanne has for sale and it would be super cute for a needle case or a knitting bag.

Tempting looks geat on you. Love your hairstyle too.

I must, I must, I must increase my bust ... Love the pink tempting!

You look great in tempting! So pink :) I think we can forgive all the purple. It's still pretty.

Tempting is just amazing on you! Oh, the memories you invoked with that Judy Bloom book mention...

Your Tempting is hot... I am very happy to hear that you are "In the Purple"... you will see what I mean in due time :) *hint hint*

Have a good weekend, dearie!

1. Are you there God it's Me Margaret...Yeah Judy Blume!
2. Forgot to tell you on the other blog that your Tempting looks great!
I'll be watching fo your FO tanks! Have a great weekend!
