What can brown do for you?

Meet my new favorite color.   Brownand.

Brownand green.

Brownand blue.

And of course, brownand pink.

I think I like all versions of brownand, aside from maybe brownand orange (sorry, B, it's nothing personal, I swear) and not so psyched about brownand black.  But, as I am with all things, I'm picky as hell when it comes to brown, so we'll see how long this lasts.

My handpaintedyarn.com order arrived this morning and I'm very happy with it.  I think the only thing I'm likely to make and give is the brown and green handpainted, as I wish it were a bit more blue and less yellow (the green part), but I still really like it and think there is a strong possibility that they will never leave the premises.  And yes, I am trying to sneak the fact that I bought some custom Lorna's a week or so ago, and ignoring the whole Lorna's lust/never made a sock dichotomy.

I do have one current resolution that I'm doing, and that is to always have a scarf on the needles.  I realized the other day, when the cool winds were blowing, that I have exactly one handknit scarf, and it was made by Libby (I don't count the turtleneck shrug, as that is more of a frustrated jacket).

And a couple disclosures.  First off, part of what has made this week difficult for me is that I'm trying to give up my local physician (at least at home, anyway).  Since I am really bad about sticking to diets and exercise regimens, and I really don't need to be pumping myself full of sugar....so even though I wouldn't drink more than 2 or 3 a day, that's more than I need.  Secondly, on the Alias front, I only started watching last season, so there's a lot that I think I'm missing out on.  Sadly, it was the goofy wigs and costumes that kept me into it last year, and they haven't done it much at all in the new season.

I got my handpainted yarn too! (for Kris's sweater). I held off this time, but I had my eye on that same "brownand" pink. LOVE that combo.

Have a happy weekend, Cathi dear :)

oh i have had my eye on the hp yarn, in brown and pink/blue, too. how's the feel of the yarn? and what color lorna's laces is that? i haven't seen those colors around. can't wait to see what you make with it.

Oooh, all of those brownand combos are really pretty. I think I like brownand blue best. Maybe brownand pink. How does one choose??

I think you need some brownand half & half--coffee to replace your Dr Pepper caffeine lack.

The yarn is gorgeous and you don't *have* to knit socks with the Lorna's--you could knit scarves, I have. :)

I absolutely LOVE brown mixed with blue or pink - my favorite combinations! These yarns are just gorgeous.

You little stinker! You didn't tell me about the handpaintedyarn. Looking forward to seeing your scarf(ves)

where was the handpaint tonight? i can't believe you didn't bring it!! it's nice to hang out on a regular basis with my girls... hope we can keep a tradition going here!

I love the pink and brown combo. Very cute.

I like Alias for the costume changes too.

Good stuff, that brownand. Can't wait to see it all knitted up!

I really like the brown and pink.

I find that once I've been off the sugar water for long enough, it just tastes too sickeningly sweet for me to want to have more. You just need to make it through the withdrawal and you'll be fine.

oooh, nice haul! I'm loving the brown and pink combo lately, too.

Ok, my poverty is your fault! After seeing these beautiful yarns last night on your blog I went to that website and spent $100 on various yarns there - BEAUTIFUL!! OH LORD GORGEOUS STUFF!!

Drool. Those are gorgeous. Have you looked at Brownand Plum? If it's a very berryish plum, it can be a gorgeous combination.

hmm, yum, I love what brown can do! Omg, umm, how come we didn't see any of this brownand stuff? How's the hand of the yarn, is it soft? What weight of yarn did you order? I love the brownand blue and pink, the green does have a bit too much yellow in it. And the Lorna's. I covet this stuff. Where did you get the brownand pink and blue Lorna's? I don't recall seeing that colorway before.

Yummy yarn, that brownand. So watchya gonna make? Huh? :)

Did you say custom ordered Lorna's? OHHHH we so have to change our bet from m&m's to that.

Also - missed you this weekend at Rhinebeck. You would have fit right in with the mania! Lauren took a picture of Melanie and I with you in mind - boob pose and all!

Gotta love the brownand. I'm hoping to get my brownand blue from knitpicks today. Not that I need to cast anything new on (not that that will stop me...).
Awsome to see you Friday. Hope you have a great week!

BTW - I got the last of the colors for the Tapestry Garden. Let me know next time you'll make it out and I'll bring it along. :D

Love the brownand pink
You're much braver than I; I don't think I could ever give up the Dr. Pepper.

Ooh. I think I MUST have some of that brown/green and brown/blue yarn. I recognize the brown/pink Lorna's! I have yet to make a sock for myself, but have all this fabulous sock yarn just waiting for me. *sigh*
