I am the decider

Since I wrapped up a quick sample (to hopefully be revealed in late January), I hemmed and hawwed (what is hawwing, exactly?  And I bet hemming isn't really what I think it is either) about what my next project would be.  I made a list.  Checked it thrice.  Then threw that MF out the window and cast on for something completely different.

[Here is where the not even vaguely pornographic picture would be, but seeing as I talked about my nethers in the last post, I decided to let it go.  Ok, fine, here it is.  But I swear on my Cuisinart that that is my finger- the middle, actually.  Fittingly, this is the picture with the best color accuracy.]

I'm making a circular shrug based on a pattern of Ms. L's- although the color isn't accurate, here is the money shot.

I'm using Alchemy Lone Star in Mist- I like to think of Lone Star as the posh love child of Cascade 220 and Lamb's Pride.  It has the mohair and similar loft like LP, but it has plying reminiscent of Cascade.  Let us not forget the handpainting, and for me, almost all yarn is about the color (why do you think my sock yarn stash is so huge?), so really, that is the most important thing.  I'm working the last few inches of the outer border (with my stitch count, I could have made close to another full Tempting), and then it's on to the sleeves.  I think I feel my FOjo coming back....

Dude, what is it with you and the holes? That Lone Star, she is purty, but I'd have to rob the Savings & Loan to get my hands on some. I'll just stay here in the saloon, twirling my pistol.

How's that for pornographic?

I love that pattern. I have seen something similar at my LYS knit with some sort of Noro yarn and it's beautiful.

That is going to look so cute on you...

I was wondering if it was that shrug. I love that one. But I never got around to it. Pretty stuff. I think it will look great.

Is this the Barcelona Bolero on the Lion Brand site? It looks a little like it. I have some slightly furry mohair-esque yarn that my husband gave me a few years' ago. It is pretty soft and would probably make a nice shrug.
