Ravel(ry) rousing
I know everyone and their blue haired aunt has already blogged about it, but seriously- Ravelry is so beyond awesome, and such a genius idea. I was lucky enough to get an invite from everyone's favorite pump pimp, and it is finally the thing that made me sign up for a (real) Flickr account. I think it would be a great place for non-bloggers to catalogue their stash, and meet other knitters (I can't have been the only one that was afraid of leaving comments when I didn't have a blog, right?). I mean, I actually want to catalogue my stash, which is a sobering and daunting prospect in itself. It's downhill from here, ladies and gents.
On two totally unrelated notes- Cotton Ease on sale at Michaels this week! And Kaffe Fassett had designed a sock yarn for Regia [full disclosure: I've never bought from this site, but man, they have nice prices!]. I am a fan of the Landscapes line, but they all look really nice- I love the colors.

Leaving comments is sometimes hard even when you have a blog - I think I only comment on about 5-10% of the ones I read. (Now don't you feel special???)

My friend who doesn't have a blog but wants some of the benefits of blogging is one of the people I think is enjoying Ravelry most.... wait. no. IIII'm enjoying it the most. ;-)

I was (am) looking forward most to documenting the stash, but now that up to my ears in stash pictures (and not done yet), it's scaring me a little. It all looked so much smaller stuffed in the back of my closet. (Please note that it did not stop me from going to my LYS today.)

Cotton Ease Sale? Oh dear, I just bought some full price last week. And with all the old colors I still have in my closet, I really don't need any more. But yarn isn't really about needs, is it?

A hilarious note about the Kaffe Fasett Regia sock yarn: their sample socks are knit in Kaffe's shoe size and they're HUGE! I love that they thought of doing that in the first place (clever!) and they really make an impression (ginormous!)

I would love an invite to Ravelry. I added my name to the list last week sometime and am still holding out hope for an invite. The yarn for your socks was shipped today!!

Second the Ravelry, I know they are slowly getting invites out, but with about 3,000 on the waiting list (so I hear), and Jess and Casey having full-time jobs, trying to get the site not to explode is a tricky thing.
Thanks for the heads up on the cotton-ease sale, and I just moved near to a Michaels - looks like it's time for a visit.

I had not heard of Ravelry before and now I've heard about it twice this week. It was also mentioned on the Stash and Burn podcast. It does sound intriguing, but I am already signed up for so many blogging/social networking sites that I'm afraid to even look at another one!
