Saturday was such a yummy mail day. I got the Elann yarn that I ordered (what can I say, I'm a follower), enough for two of the ribby cardi sweaters. I think I might make them completely ribbed, as opposed to the model that Bonne Marie has up. And I got the new EW, the holiday movie preview. I'm excited about a lot of the standard issues, but what caught my eye were some of the indies- Bride and Prejudice (I love Gurinder Chadha, and P&P, and pretty much anything about the Indian culture) and In The Realms of the Unreal (certainly makes Lorette's goal seem a little more doable, but no less admirable).
I started realizing I have to clear out my TiVo- it's insane how I feel like I can never get ahead, I really need to start dedicating myself to solid TV watching every day. Last night I started DiG!, recorded off of the Sundance Channel, and I'm really enjoying it. It follows the Dandy Warhols (you can hear free clips here and here) and The Brian Jonestown Massacre (clips here) and their bouts with fame and insanity. I should fess up that I'm a big Dandy Warhols fan (re-introduced to me by an ex with almost perfect musical taste), and so far the doc has made them come off looking pretty good. I don't know if I would recommend this to anyone who wasn't a DW or BJM lover, or into the music industry, but I'm so glad that I've gotten to see it. Next up are Angels in America, American Splendor, Donnie Darko, Harold and Maude and I think some others- can you believe I've never seen these?
I'm becoming disillusioned with the new set of TV shows. I'm a fan of both Desperate Housewives and Lost, but I'm feeling like they drag too much out to keep people tuning in week after week (or in Lost's case, to extend the longevity of the show). I don't know if this is a network ploy and I'm spoiled by cable shows (although they are guilty too- like Nip-Tuck's season ending cliffhanger), or if it's something that advertisers ask for....I'm giving both of these shows two more weeks and then I'm going to stop watching.
Exciting news- you can see the full line of patterns from Stitch 'N Bitch Nation- just click on the book cover and peruse away! Thanks for the tip, Lib!
Here's pics of my little Renaissance Man
showing that he could grow up to be king or queen of the world.
PS- Maybe they were being literal in the ads.
what colors did you get for the ribby cardigan? i can't decide.

How cute! I love it...was that part of his Halloween costume? What were your children? My neice was Dora the Explore, a character she adores, and my neighbor Sarah, her nephew was Batman.

Hey! Can I watch Donnnie Darko with you? I have yet to see it.

To answer the question, no, the hat and mittens weren't part of his Halloween costume, those are his sister's outdoor things. :P He was Po, from the Teletubbies, and my daughter was a fairy (there should be pics in the November 1 post).
